SAMBAL is an integral part of Malaysian cuisine. It is an all-purpose condiment paste typically made from a mixture of a variety of chili peppers with secondary ingredients such as shrimp paste, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar and lime juice. It maybe added to other dishes such as noodles, soups, stews, meat and rice. Sambal is often use to add flavour and spices to marinades, dips, sauces and spreads.

What is …?
Tempe is a cake-like substance made from cooked and slightly fermented soybeans. This fermentation helps to break down the phytic acid in soybeans, making the starches in tempeh easier to digest. After fermentation, the soybeans are formed into a patty similar to a very firm veggie burger or a block.
