Pandanus amaryllifolius is a tropical plant in the Pandanus genus, which is commonly known as pandan or screwpine. It has fragrant leaves which are used widely for flavouring in the cuisines of Southeast Asia and South Asia. It is an Asian take on the well reputed Vanilla essence. It adds fragrance and flavour to soups, curries, rice, porridges, and sweet treats.
