The coffee powder business was started on a small scale in 1985. During those time the brand Cap Lesong was not yet registered as a trademark and was sold door to door on a bicycle in villages. With encouraging response and support from the locals, the business started to take off. In December 1987, a company called Messrs Haji Othman bin Hassan was set up. This company is well known among the Tasek Gelugor’s resident. In 1989, the Cap Lesong brand was registered with the Intellectual Property Body of Malaysia (MyIPO) as the official coffee powder of the company. In 1997,the company introduced another new product which is the tea powder. It is registered using the same brand as well but with different logo. In April 2013, Lesong Bestari Marketing was registered with Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and has been operating till now. In 2021, the company once again introduce the brand new 3 in 1 white coffee for coffee lover.
