My love for Malaysian cuisine, particularly the captivating world of anchovies and sambal, began at a young age, fueled by cherished family recipes and fond memories of gathering around the dining table.
Hailing from Selangor, Malaysia, I am proud of my Javanese heritage, deeply influenced by my mother’s legacy as a food trader, selling an array of traditional Malaysian delicacies. From a young age, I admired her meticulous preparation of our culinary treasures, ensuring each dish was a delectable delight for every patron – including the vibrant anchovy sambal that tantalized the senses, its alluring aromas and robust flavors inspiring me to preserve and perpetuate our family’s culinary heritage for generations to come.
It was during these formative years that my reverence for the art of sambal-making flourished, driving me to uphold this tradition while infusing it with my own distinct flair. After years of exploration and refinement, I am thrilled to introduce Bilis Boom, featuring two enticing varieties – Original and Bird’s Eye Chili – a homage to our nation’s beloved flavors, crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail.
