How to cook GULAI KAWAH (Rich Curry Sauce)
Ingredients:
- 250g to 500g chicken or meat (cleaned, washed and cut into bite size pieces)
- GULAI KAWAH (Rich Curry Sauce) PASTE (1 pack)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- Spring onion or coriander leaves
- Sugar and salt (optional)
Method:
- Mix the GULAI KAWAH PASTE with the chicken or meat well. Leave it to marinate for a few minutes.
- In a heated wok or cooking pot, pour in the chicken/meat marinated mixture. Add in 1 cup of water and give a good stir.
- Stir well and let this sauce cook for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken/meat cooks well.
- Add in the thick coconut milk and give a good stir again. Wait till this sauce starts boiling. Do a taste test to see if it suits your palate. You can add some salt or sugar to suit your preference.
- Check to see if the meat is tender. If YES, the dish is ready to be served.
- Plate up this saucy dish and garnish with spring onions or coriander leaves.
- Goes well with steamed rice, bread and chapatti. Also pairs well as toppings for pasta and noodles. Enjoy!!
How to cook ASAM PEDAS (Sweet & Sour) PASTE (Usually cooked with fish but you can substitute with chicken or meat)
Ingredients:
- 250g to 500g fish fillets of your choice (Tuna or Salmon) (cleaned, washed and cut into big size pieces)
- ASAM PEDAS (Sweet & Sour) PASTE (1 pack)
- 1 cup water
- Coriander leaves
- Sugar and salt (optional)
Method:
- In a heated wok or cooking pot, add in the ASAM PEDAS (Sweet & Sour) PASTE. Next, add in the fish fillets and give a gentle stir to coat the fish fillets with the sauce.
- After 3 minutes, add in 1 cup of water. Let it cook till the sauce thickens.
- Do a taste test to see if it suits your palate. You can add some salt or sugar to suit your preference.
- Let it cook for 10 more minutes and the dish would be ready to be served.
- Plate up this saucy dish and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Goes well with steamed rice, bread and chapatti. Enjoy!!
