Rendang paste is a flavourful and aromatic spice paste used as a base for cooking Rendang, a traditional Indonesian dish known for its rich and complex flavours. Rendang is often made with beef (or other proteins like chicken, lamb, or even vegetables) and is slow-cooked in coconut milk until the sauce thickens and the meat becomes tender. Rendang paste plays a crucial role in building the distinctive taste of this dish.
Ingredients :
Onion, lemongrass, galangal, candlenut, garlic, ginger, dried chilli, shredded coconut, turmeric, date spice, cumin, coriander, cloves, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric leaves, lime leaves kaffir lime, sugar, tamarind, salt and cooking oil
How to cook :
1. Put 30ml of water into the pan
2. Mix 1 pack of rendang paste
3. Add 500ram (chicken/meat)
4. When boiling, add 200ml of coconut milk
5. Wait until cooked and ready to serve
