It represents and reflects on Malaysians’  keen interest in savouring a flavourful taste right at home, anytime and anyday.  Now, it is coming right to your doorstep , especially for those in the UK. Comprised of five different types of delicacies; Sambal Sardin Cili Api, Dendeng, Sambal Belacan, Acar Buah Ikan Masin and Minyak Cili Bawang Putih(Garlic Chilli Oil), these delicacies are nicely packed in packets, which are then bundled in a ‘batik’ tote  bag. The main objective of putting the different types of dekicaces in one bag is to allow people worldwide to experience the different flavourful  taste of Malaysian food. The use of the batik tote bag, other than as a form of promotion, is also to promote the name of MALAYSIA and Malaysian delicacies to the world. All of the food prepared are savoury in nature and are meant to be eaten with rice, noodle, etc. The variety of flavours in each food like hot, spicy, sweet, sour adds a touch of ethnical taste and is very common in almost all kinds of  Malaysian food. To make it easier for consumers, these food are ready to eat and could come in handy and easily used by busy working people, students or travelers. 1. SAMBAL SARDIN CILI API (SPICY SARDINE IN BIRD’S EYE CHILLI)

Main ingredients: Sardines, chilli, onions, and garlic This is a dish that may not be eaten on daily basis, but surely missed by many. Made from canned or processed sardines, fried with bird’s eye chilli and onion, this dish is surely appetising to may Malaysians.

2. DENDENG (BEEF JERKY)

Main ingredients: Beef, Chilli paste, onion, garlic, vinegar, spices, soy sauce This thinly sliced beef, cooked with Chilli, onion and soy sos was usually served during the Malay’s feasts or festivals. However, it has become popular and eaten at any time – at anyone’s wish.

3. SAMBAL BELACAN (SHRIMP PASTE)

Main ingredients: Shrimp paste, chilli, lime juice This is the Malaysian version of the Indonesian Sambal Terasi. The strong taste of shrimp paste mixed with hot chilli paste and lime may make the smell unbareable to many, but irresistible to the many  Malaysians.  

4. ACAR BUAH IKAN MASIN (PICKLED FRUITS WITH SALTED FISH)

Main ingredients: Pickled fruits, salted fish, chilli, sugar, vinegar This pickled fruit and salted fish chutney consist of many tastes in this one dish. It comprises the taste of sweet, sour, hot, etc. It is usually eaten with rice in special events like weddings, feasts, etc.

5. MINYAK CILI BAWANG PUTIH (GARLIC CHILLI OIL)

Main ingredients: Chilli flakes, garlic, oil This is not a dish, but a side dish that could help flavour a tasteless or not so delicious food. Originally famous among the Chines, this side dish has become common and help flavour soup, porridge, rice – and even pizza or spaghetti.
