It started with something very simple.
One day, I took a Pakistani Muslim colleague to a supermarket for lunch. As we walked around, I decided to pick up a few things for her children – but she then put them back.
They weren’t halal.
That small moment made me realise something I had never really thought about before. Halal wasn’t just about meat. It affected sweets, vitamins, cooking ingredients, cosmetics and so much more.
And yet, finding these products was often surprisingly difficult.
We began looking at the wider picture. Across the UK and around the world, thousands of Muslim businesses were creating wonderful products, but many struggled to reach customers beyond their own markets. At the same time, consumers were looking for more halal and Muslim-friendly products, but there was no single place bringing everything together.
The products existed.
The businesses existed.
The customers existed.
What was missing was the bridge between them.
That became HalalStreet.
What started in the UK has grown into a global platform connecting Muslim and halal businesses with customers and markets around the world.
Today, HalalStreet is more than an online marketplace. It brings together products, businesses, export support, logistics and market access — helping businesses take their products beyond borders and helping customers discover products they can trust.
We believe the halal economy should not be fragmented by countries, platforms or borders.
There is a whole world of halal products out there.
We are here to bring it together.
